I am kindly requesting that Alaska software implement a customer feedback
forum similar to the ADS site at

http://feedback.advantagedatabase.com/pages/general/filter/top

The service on uservoice is free for light usage and nomally priced for basic
usage.

As everyone is aware, I have opinions regarding Xbase++ direction that are
not fully aligned with current development. I am more than willing to yield
on these opinions to the greater good if I can view an objective representation
of Xbase++ users feedback. I believe that uservoice.com provides a reasonable
way to accomplish this.

Alternatively, if Alaska is uninterested, I would like permission/endorsement
from Alaska software to implement an unofficial Xbase++ customer feedback
forum at uservoice with the hope of better understanding the concensus of
Xbase++ user views.

Rodd,

we already have developed that type of application, our goal
was to get rid of the un-reflected und un-balanced wishlist
in the newsgroup but also to integrate the current PDR voting
process with our internal issue tracking and feature tracking application.
The idea was to make the development progress and focus
transparent in a permanent manner and provide customers a way
to influence future development and feature requests beyond
the simple PDR voting right now.

This way providing a centralized view into:

 - what customers want in means of new features
 - on which features we are already working
 - which features are already done
 - which PDRs need to be resolved
 - what are the customers long term requirements
 - where Alaska Software sees a need for, (this includes disruptive
features, moves)

Our plan is to lanuch that application at the forthcoming Xbase++
 User-Conference in Cologne.

Fair enough. I look forward to this application coming online.

If you find the application delayed or cancelled due to priorities, you might
consider uservoice.com a interim solution since it is free and takes 15 minutes
to setup. I don't know about you, but I cannot implement a custom solution
quicker than that.
