Good afternoon.
Xbase++ 1.90 had a documentation about Presentation Parameters (pease
see the attachs: _linkapp.png that shows a link to a brief description
of Presentation Parameters as shown in _Descript.png). Even it is
incomplete I use it sometimes.
I could not to find this description in Xbase++ 2.0 then I use the
Xbase++ 1.90 help.
The problem: how can I open the Xbase++ help in Windows 10?

Hi Carlos,

I have copied an old reply I made back in 2015 regarding opening older
HLP files with newer versions of Windows (works with Win 10). I also
just checked the link to the ZIP file and it still works...

I recently installed Win 10 on a test system but had not tried the
older HLP files. After your posting I dug around and found this...

http://www.water-simulation.com/wsp/2015/10/01/how-to-open-epanets-help-file-in-windows-10/

Obviously I did not download the Epanets HLP file but did download the
ZIP file that they reference at...

http://www.water-simulation.com/wsp/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Win10-Hlp32-Fix.zip

I then unzipped the saved the ZIP file to a folder C:\HLP and opened
the CMD prompt as administrator... changed to the newly created HLP
folder and ran the install.cmd

It ran and paused at a few points where I simply hit enter for it to
continue.

Once completed I could open the older HLP files.

If you are interested the following is what was displayed by the
install.cmd...

C:\HLP>install

Hi Jim,

The suggestion I posted installs the winhlp32.exe and makes the required
associations with the install process. Unzip... run install.cmd and
winhlp32.exe is transferred to the system folders with the required
regedits made for the file associations.

The ZIP was obviously created to simplify the implementation for
the end user.

Genlemen, if I understand this right, you need new format files for 1.9
documentation?

There were .chm files released in 2009 for xpp 1.9 as one of downloads:

here are from my :

\alaska\XPPW32\book:

18.08.2009 20:25 514.350 xppguide.chm
18.08.2009 20:27 3.094.938 xpplang.chm
18.08.2009 20:25 156.458 xpptools.chm

I am sure there are still available at alaska website.

Hi,

Just checked and downloaded the CHM version of the 1.9 help file. It is
still accessible without a current Xbase++ subscription.

Maybe just me but I prefer the HLP versions particularly when I'm
looking at an Xbase part as I find the "Class Tree" option very handy.

After Windows XP Microsoft stopped including the WinHlp32.exe but as
both Jim & I have pointed out it is still available and will run under
the latest Windows release. I still have other HLP files aside from
Xbase 1.9 so I still use it.

Good afternoon.
Many thanks to all.
In the Windows exists WinHlp32.exe. But it does not work with the .hlp
files.
I will to give a try to all sugestions.

Good afternoon.
I installed the help files as shown in the attach Help_190.png and the
files HH.exe e WinHlp32.exe got in Windows 7.
The files HH.exe and Win32Hlp.exe of Windows 10 do not open these files.
I can open XppGuide.chm with WinHlp32.exe from Windows 7 but it does
open its sections.
Please what is going wrong?
