Hi Guys,

    After I installed xBase (and ADSDBE) 1.9 and recompile one of my 
applications with it (apparently with no problems or errors), I can't run 
the EXE anymore.
    This is what i get:

Hello Marcelo,

you are right, this error normaly says that one or more dll are of the wrong
version.

Have you checked all libs and dll in the directory and the path? Did you
recompile ALL prgs, are all 3rd party tools campatible with 1.9?

Hi Jan,

     I use xBase, ADSDBE and eXPress++.. ADSDBE and xBase are installed from 
1.9.. eXPRess++ is recompiled w/ 1.9...

    What is strange is: The DLL in the error message is a xBase runtime dll, 
which the only one i have on my machine is
the 1.9 one...

    Any other ideas?

Double check all obj files to make sure they are rebuilt.  Also check 
all DLL's and EXE's for the same thing.

that is simply because a third-party dll you are using is compiled with an 
older version of Xbase++ and therefore has problems with the new XPPRT1-dll!
Check your 3pp-Dlls in your app-directory - that's it!

HI,
    I have the same problem......
    To avoid 3rd party library, I made a simple program
and the problem continue...
    The unique 3rt party library is TOPDOWN 5.2, but I remake it , using
(make_dll.bat) procedure...

    Any people can send me a directory with dates, to verify date files of
alaska RUNTIME directory...

Go to www.dependencywalker.com and download the current version
(http://www.dependencywalker.com/depends21_x86.zip)

Start depends.exe, then open your Xbase++ exe file (File->open) -
dependency walker will then show you the exact dependency tree of all
modules, so you can see which DLL is the offending one. 

One special case is when DLLs are loaded dynamically at runtime. Then you
have to start the profiling mode with the F7 key. 

Dependency walker will start your application and trace all DLL load calls,
showing you the point(s) where the problems are.

Okay after runnin the Dependency walker:
Without profiling I noticed that the XBPRT1.DLL (version 1.9.331) have a few 
missing exported functions:

The XPPRT1.DLL is called from JACE31XP.DLL(From my exp19 folder) which is 
called from DCLIPX.DLL (Also from exp19 folder)

Now when running the profiler, a complete different DLL shows up.. (thats 
what got me confused now..)
NTDLL.DLL which is a windows dll.. with the following message:

Second chance exception 0xC0000139 (DLL Not Found) occurred in "NTDLL.DLL" 
at address 0x7C964ED1.

Exited "XTRV.EXE" (process 0x30C) with code -1073741511 (0xC0000139).

A full output for the profiler can be find attached.

To me it looks like there is a problem with the Donnay library calls to the 
xbase dlls... Am I wrong?

What version of Express++ are you using and what version of Xbase++ was

Is the DCLIPX.DLL you mention from those versions?  Have you done a 
search for DCLIPX.DLL to make sure there isn't an old version of it 
getting in the way?

Did you try rebuilding Express++ using Xbase++ 1.9 and putting the 
resultant DCLIPX.DLL into your application folder?

    Attached is the DCLIPX.DLLs in question (the larger one is the 
exp19/bin19, the other is from exp19/bin), I verified and:
    1. There are 3 places where this DLL exists:
        Exp19/bin
        Exp19/bin182
        Exp19/bin19
        They are all exactly the same version.
    2. The DLL is being called from Exp19/bin (according to the dependency 
walker)

    Well with that in hands I tried to change the folder that the DLL is 
called from exp19/bin to Exp19/bin19.. And guess what? It works!
    Now can anyone tell me why? They are the same version (product and file 
version), but different in size.

Please NEVER attach such a large file to a newsgroup message again!

A lot of the people who read these messages do so using slow dial-up

Okay after getting eXPress++ 1.9 and installing it, having all 1.8 
directores uninstalled and deleted. I still have the same problem:

Standard installation from eXpress is to express\bin and these are the old

Well Wolf, to be very honest with you, when I installed EXP19, it didnt 
changed the paths at all, I had to add it manually.
