Allen Lee | WAA installation and update process on Mon, 17 Oct 2016 18:32:33 -0700 I am very happy with WAA ver 1.90.331 and the way that Alaska configured the system setup. However, a PDR fix forced an upgrade from 1.90.331 to 1.90.355. The two versions are very different. It is not possible to simply replace the .331 Alaska files with the .355 Alaska files. .355 is closer to a pre-2.0 version. I do not use xbase++ and do not want to install the compulsory workbench. I completely agree with the views shared on "Changes to the Installation and Update Processes" in the "public.xbase++.installation" newsgroup. Does anyone use WAA ver 2 or ver 1.90.355 without the workbench? If so, then I would like to hear how you did it. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus | |

You can still develop with Xbase++ 2.0 (as in 1.90.*) without the workbench. The workbench does give you nice facilities, but is not compulsary for creating projects. The installation of the workbench is compulsary, but it is also the way of receiving updates. So, if you don't use the workbench, fire it up regularly to check on new updates. Peter |
