Andreas Herdt | Re: Developer Conference Details on Mon, 17 Nov 2014 12:29:43 +0100 Hi Kiron, Generally the DevCon material is not intended to be published. We (Alaska) have shown things that is not documented yet, those things will be documented of course one after the other. However, the same is true in this case: We have no plans to release the DevCon material to the public. Steffen F. Pirsig | Re: Developer Conference Details on Mon, 17 Nov 2014 12:54:13 +0100 Hi Jacob John, allow me to clarify. First of all, conference material is for conference attendees only. The reason for that is simple, around 60% of the conference ticket income goes to the speakers in terms of airfare/transportation, hotel and speakers-dinner. IAW attendees pay for speakers to be there. In turn speaker are forced to delivery a minimum of 15-20 pages proceeding/paper, source code and samples. Speakers also must present two sessions about two different topics and each session must be repeated. This concepts works very well and creates real value and really good content. And it would simple break if the material would be available to non attendees. Consequently I strongly encourage you to consider attending Southwest Xbase++ 2015 in October next year. regards Steffen F. Pirsig Alaska Software Inc. | |
Jacob John | Re: Developer Conference Details on Tue, 18 Nov 2014 16:54:52 +0530 Hi Steffen, I agree with your views. But the problem is I am from Kochi, India. When i checked, air fair from Kochi to Phoenix is between $ 1800 to $ 3000 (Round trip). And cost of registration is $ 795.00. And plus other expenses. When I convert in to our corrency it will come around Rs. 270000.00. It is a very big amount for us to afford. Dont laugh. If we could spare that much amount, i would prefer buying XBase 2.0 for our developers who still work in 1.9. So i am encouraged with your invitation. But i know i can not attend the event because of the cost. If you publish the content of conference, Do you think any of the attendees will question you ? or Will they say that Alaska Software cheated them ? I think they will never say like that. Any way, Company is yours. You have contducted the conference. So defenetely the discreation is with you. And i know there is no point of maiking any complaint. Thanks for the detailed reply.
