Hello Mr Borger,

First: Please ensure that the workbench is allowed to communicate via
the internet. This is prerequisite for any update attemp and it may be
the root cause of the error message you are encountering.

If the problem persists, then please send the asac.log and asget.log files
to technical support for analyses. You can find both files in the documents
folder of your Windows User data, which is (On windows Vista, 7 and 8):

c:\users\<username>\Documents\Xbase++\logs

So your product is properly activated. This is what the logs are telling us.

Can you please verify one thing for me, it is the existence of asget.exe at
its proper place, which is

    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Alaska-Software\xpp20

The message tells us that  a process can not be started, it is worth 
checking
for the existence of the tool.

I went i little further...

I manually called asget to install the updates.
it works, so part of the problem is that the workbench does not call (not find maybe) asget properly....

this as my first call

Hi Mr Borger,

So the download of Xbase++ 2.00.560 successfully went through and you have 
been able to start the update procedure. The installation failed because of 
MSI error 3010.

We have two issues now.

1) You can not initiate the update procedure from the workbench
2) Once initiated, the installation of the update fails.

I like you to send the log file that was created by the MSI installer to 
support@alaska-software.com. This is the path of the logfile on your hard 
drive:

C:\Users\Edgar 
Borger\AppData\Roaming\alaska-software\xpp20\update-cache\xpp-foun.20-00-560.en.20141218.log

I hope we are able to resolve the issue before we close our office tomorrow

just sent the log file of manually started update of 560.

maybe the error is result of "start latter" when asked to restart my system????


after that, restarted the system, started workbench and got
(error): Plugin (XWBDOT20) not found!

auto updates still don't work.

I applied 570 manually yesterday, and apparently everything went OK
now my xbase has been deactivated when when I try to activate it says limit exceeded ????

please advise urgently, I cannot wait until Jan.....

you can use the Workbench even when it is "not activated"
