James Loughner | Re: Is there a DBU utilty witrh xbase ? on Thu, 04 Nov 2004 15:12:06 -0500 There is a White paper to show how to convert DBU to Xbase++. http://www.alaska-software.com/scripts/waa001.dll?WAA_PACKAGE=WebLib&WAA_FORM=ListFiles&WEBLIB_SECT=12 However you really don't need to. You can simply use DBU. Or if you want a Windows-DBU check out Clayton's X-DBU http://www.cjcom.net/xdbucore.htm There is no need to convert DBFs. They are the same in Clipper and Xbase++ Unless you are using Fox formated DBFs Then you will need a Xbase++ utility. James Loughner | Re: Is there a DBT creation utilty witrh xbase ? on Thu, 04 Nov 2004 21:45:53 -0500 DBT files store memos. If you don't use memos you don't need DBTs. DBTs are created automaticly in both Clipper and Xbase++ when you create a file with one or more memo fields. You can also use FPT if you use FOXDBE for memo(text) or memo(binary) fields. Yes, and the project also exists on www.xodc.org.uk, although I believe Jim has some trouble connecting. Do you still want to head up this project Jim? James Loughner | Re: Is there a DBU utilty witrh xbase ? on Fri, 05 Nov 2004 10:37:15 -0500 I have had no time to play with the connection. I'd still like to do it but it will be a couple of weeks before I really have time. If anyone has any changes they want to include, hang on to them until Jim is ready Regards, Phil Ide *************************************** * Xbase++ FAQ, Libraries and Sources: * * goto: http://www.idep.org.uk/xbase * *************************************** Go ahead, make my danish. | |
João Pedro Machado de Sousa | Re: Is there a DBU utilty witrh xbase ? on Thu, 04 Nov 2004 22:07:48 +0000 Normand > Is there a DBU utilty witrh xbase ? James already answered that one > Is threre an utility to convert old DBF into Xbase DBF and DBT ? How old? AFAIK Xbase++ can open any kind of DBF. Anyway, to make a convertion of different DBF formats just take 2 lines. For example, to convert a Clipper DBF to a Fox one DbUseArea( .t., 'DBFNTX', 'OldDBF.DBF' ) DbExport( 'NewDBF.DBF',,,,,,, 'FOXCDX' ) Very Best Regards João Pedro Machado de Sousa |
