Jeremy Suiter | Re: Print with Alaska on Tue, 13 Sep 2005 14:56:00 +0100 With Xbase++ you can do it 2 ways the old Clipper way and via the windows print spooler. You can always download the free trial off Alaska's website and have a look at the examples. They may answer a lot of your questions. You can also look at Phils site (http://www.idep.org.uk/xbase/) which has lots of solutions. And of course you can always ask here. Over the years I've found the help available extremely useful. Garry Allen | Re: Print with Alaska on Tue, 13 Sep 2005 16:46:40 -0400 Particularly if you are moving from Clipper, I think you will save a lot of time by using Clayton's TopDown library. I converted all of one program's reports from Clipper's @ row, col say, etc to nice looking Windows reports in an afternoon. Bruce Carroll | Re: Print with Alaska on Mon, 19 Sep 2005 00:27:28 +0100 I would agree with Garry - by using TopDown you can convert a console based application to full GUI with a very tolerable learning curve. The TD library has very well documented code examples and help file and will have you up and productive is a very short time (took me one week to produce my first GUI from Clipper - and I am not a wiz programmer by any stretch of the imagination!).
