Franz Josef Herbers | What's this : CMXDBT52.OBJ / CMX52.LIB on Mon, 19 Jun 2006 08:58:18 +0200 Hello everybody, I know this is not strictly an Xbase++ question, but as the final goal is to migrate to it, I ask the question anyway: We have just taken over some legacy Clipper 5.2 app's from an outside programmer. I can't get one of these programs to link as two objects are missing in my environment: CMXDBT52.OBJ CMX52.LIB Does somebody know what these files are ? I suspect that they belong to some driver... If yes, does somebody have those driver and maybe doesn't use them anymore and would be willing to provide/sell these ? Thanks Franz Josef | |

I have this somewhere, but I can't find it right now. Perhaps it's knocking around on an old 486 somewhere . Anyway, COMIX was a library for handling Foxpro tables and indexes. FJ Herbers | Re: What's this : CMXDBT52.OBJ / CMX52.LIB (to Phil) on Tue, 20 Jun 2006 21:06:03 +0200 Hi Phil thanks for the prompt and I must say exhaustive help (referring as well to the other posts you sent) on our issue. I followed your hints and went to the GrafXSoft site and find links to download a demo version, as well an online version (key protected). Nothing works for download. I left a mail at there sales contact adress, showing my interest to buy the driver - until now no response at all. If you still have that driver and are able to find <Grin>, I'd be interested in buying it. Please contact me then directly. Thanks again for your support Franz Josef Herbers BTW: When searching through posts in the newsgroups, I like very much in your postings the quotes at the end (I'm missing the correct English word for them). They show your sense of humour.. and make me smile (I guess this is true as well for other participants here) One of my favourites of yours is the one with the predators and tasting bad. I'm sure, you'll know which I mean. If you need Comix (for Clipper) you can purchase it here: http://www.grafxsoft.com/comix.htm Xbase++ supports the same Foxpro tables/indexes, but you'd have to write wrappers for some of the comix-specific functions if they have been used, which return the index-key number etc. Most of them can be replaced by Xbase++ functions, but I believe a couple are not possible. The comix functions are allnamed cmx*(), so easy to spot. I have the norton guides for comix if you want them. As a follow on to this, you can get an Norton Guide reader for Windows here: http://www.davep.org/norton-guides/WEGSetup.exe If you want to run Norton Guides through a web-browser, you can do it with this tool: http://www.davep.org/norton-guides/w3ng-103.zip Thanks to Dave Pearson for supplying these.
