hy,

I will buy xbase++ but I don't know what is better with TopDown or
eXpress++. Must buy xbTools++ too?

Have a big Clipper-Progamm and I will migrate to xbase++.

Thank you for the help.

Greetings
angelo

XbTools are included.

I don't use either TopDown or Express++
It all depends on exactly what you want to do and how much your willing
to learn.

Topdown is more function oriented while Express++ is more command oriented.

I prefer to simply use OOP and use the Form Designer to do my dialog
layouts. You can find some tools to help you with this (JimClass) at my
site http://gogalthorp.com/splash/ . I generally can convert between
25,000 and 30,000 lines of Clipper to pure XBase++ GUI OOP per month.

I have tried both with a migration from clipper to Xbase++ -- TopDown is
the one to go for. It has heaps of functionality, very well documented and
well supported.

By using TopDown you will get results now and be able to learn how to use
Xbase++ more effectively. The final code will be stable and well structured
if you follow Claytons notes and examples.
