Zoran | Pop3Client() and encrypted connection (SSL) on Tue, 16 Aug 2005 15:08:42 +0200 Hello, I hope someone can help me. I tried to write a small prog to get my emails from Gmail via Pop3Client(). But the server requires an encrypted connection (SSL). I set the Port (995) but if I try to get the connection the error occurs "No response from server pop.googlemail.com" and "Unexpected response from server ; expecting: +OK ". I can't find in the Pop3Clint()-Class a setting for SSL encryption. Or is the way I tried the wrong way ? Thanks for help.

I think ASINET (I assume you are using 1.8x) does not support neither authenticated nor encrypted connections... not too sure about the upcoming 1.9 version. Thomas

Use an email client that supports SSL connections or use a different email provider that supports other methods of getting email.
