This is an out of topic issue but, I'm worried about the fact that Alaska's
home page is out of date for so long.

Is there something wrong with the Company ?

I wouldn't worry. It's only out of date for 2 weeks. I've seen months go
by without it updating. Besides Steffen, Till, and Andreas have been
posting to the newsgroup as recently as today.

OK. Cause I rely so much in XPP that, having it out of the market might be a
nightmare ...

Even with Alaska being out of business, Xbase++ would not stop working

Hi,

A colleague of mine is just working on the latest news. Nothing too
sensational.

Bottomline:

Knowledgebase and weblib are online again (in a few hours).

It would be nice if you could switch off this "automatic detection of user
agent language" feature on the website, 'cause I find this quite annoying.

I'd like to be able to determine by myself if I want to see the german or
english website.

Hi Andreas !
Thanks for KB, but it looks like word search doesn't work (18.mar 2004 at 9:15 am CET) .
For ex.:
XbpStatic (or anything else) return NO MATCHES

Igor

I confirm this.

Also, Andreas, could you get rid of that horrible menu system on the left
side of the home page? I find it difficult to use with items disappearing
too easily as you move the mouse around.

ACK.

BTW, the old layout was waaaaay more user-friendly. This is not what the
web is supposed to be (IMO)

Hi,

There is something that make the fulltext search feature
crash. We work on it, however we could not find the
reason, yet. So when it is not available, please send a
note to support@alaska-software.com

Yeah, I know. And it works very fine, indeed. However, how long would it last,
I mean, new OSems buble up every other year...

But, I'm relieved now. It seems things are coming back to the show arena !
