When I run this sample :-
C:\ALASKA\XPPW32\SOURCE\samples\activex\editor\main.exe

I get the message :
Error creating ActiveX Control. Please make sure MS Common Controls 6.0 is 
installed on your computer

Can anyone please explain what I have to do to get past this ?

Download and Install the missing files. You can download them from the 
Microsoft web site.

The Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Common Controls are here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=25437D98-51D0-41C1-BB14-64662F5F62FE&displaylang=en

And the Microsoft Windows Common Controls-2 6.0 are here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297381

They might not install completely/correctly on Vista, though.

i did read about it. did someone have made some sample with it ?

- Animation
- UpDown Control
- MonthView Control
- Date and Time
- Flat ScrollBar Control

where (in Office) can i "see" those Controls, i like to know how
they look like.

p.s. does MSCOMCT2.OCX need Office ? will it run on W98, W2K ?

Thanks for the links, I have downloaded them both and placed the Windows 
controls in c:\windows\system32 but I still get the same message !

Anything else ?

After you place the .OCX on your harddrive, you must register them:

C:\Windows\System32\>REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX

search on your Xbase++ Install CD-ROM for MSCOMCTL.OCX
read as Andreas say how to install it.
