Richard A. Pulliam | waa1gate.exe sometimes runs several copies of program and the old socket errors. on Thu, 28 Oct 2004 09:42:55 -0400 Yesterday when someone tried to access the WAA application, all they got was a white screen and the blue progress bar near the taskbar running indefinetely. She called me. I tried to shut down the WAA by closing the window, but it would not close. Pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del and found out about 6 instances of WAA1GATE.EXE running. Does not seen normal. I closed down all instances from the Windows Task Manager (Win 2003 Server) and WAA1SRV.EXE after. Restarted WAA1SRV and back in business. Any clue what can cause this and how to avoid it? By the way, I still get socket errors out of nowhere. I have a program that scan for them in the WAA log file, and if found, shuts down WAA1SRV and restarts it. I seriously doubt I ever have over 3 people accessing the procedure at one time. Does get to be a pain in the ass. WAA1SRV.CFG: # # this is the package configuration file # enter name and location package-DLLs # file name must not include the extension # addpkg = ..\source\samples\waa\alaska1\alaska1 addpkg = ..\source\samples\waa\tc\tc addpkg = ..\source\samples\waa\clock\clock This is WAA1GATE.CFG (VERSION 1.3) hostname = 192.168.2.99 port = 1024 docroot = ..\..\source\samples\waa smtphost = imail.cingular-ats.com | |

Mine 1024 was used by another process. -- Regards, Vladimir "Richard A. Richard A. Pulliam | Re: waa1gate.exe sometimes runs several copies of program and the old socket errors. on Thu, 28 Oct 2004 10:14:29 -0400 I switched to 1020 and restarted WAA. You know, I think you are right. 1024 is such a popular number.... Will let you know. Thank you for your prompt reply.
