Phil Ide | WAA Hosting on Mon, 16 May 2005 14:34:28 +0100 Is anyone looking for WAA Hosting? I'm thinking (emphasis on thinking) of starting a hosting service for people that want to host WAA applications. Feel free to email me direct. As a follow-up to this, a better description of the services might be appropriate Options include: 1. Dedicated server You get a server all to yourself, can U-VNC or Terminal-Services into it to administer it. 2. Co-located server You purchase the server, pre-configure it etc, and I'll host it for you in a secure premise with 100GB data transfer. Other than ownership, same as dedicated server. 3. Shared Server Guess what - you share it with other people. Web and FTP access only. WAA package upgrades and installations automatically handled. All the above come with WaaRC (remote control software to administer and monitor WAA, including the ability to start/stop/restart it, update package DLL's, WAA configuration etc.) and full FTP access to web and data directories. WAA statistics available for past 24hrs, week, month and year etc. for all packages, individual packages and individual form functions. Statistics include: Minimum time spent servicing request Maximum time spent servicing request Average time spent servicing request Number of 'hits' In addition, help can be provided in reporting package errors in real-time, successful recording of error messages in log files. Webs include CGI with Perl, Python and PHP already available. Further, Xb2.NET SOAP servers (although not xb2.net HTTP/S servers) can also run on shared servers. Actually, original pricing would have made it affordable for small low-budget companies, but I've been given some assistance in reducing costs which could make it very affordable for individuals. We've also worked out how to multi-host Xb2.NET servers (if only we read the manuals more closely ), so no problem there either.
