Don Keating | Where's the Beef? on Sat, 27 Dec 2003 10:21:38 -0500 Hi Y'all, This is a question, not a complaint. It appears to me that the Prerelease has only the editor functions. Am I missing something? TIA, >don<

Hi Don, the IDe contains editor, project management, debugging, but unfortunately no formdesigner. Is the later one the one that you are missing when you state "only"? In this case, unfortunately I have to confirm that this is true (however, it was already long comunicated that teh first release, former called CCE and now Visual Xbase++, would not contain a form designer. As far as I understand, the form designer was already developed, see e.g. http://www.alaska-software.com/vx/VisualDesigner.shtm, however, from the story in conjunction with alaska-research, I understand that they found that in order to make sense, they needed better controlls, which they seem not to have ready yet, at least not to their satisfaction, see http://www.alaska-software.com/vx/VX_BluePrint062003_EN.PDF for details). All the best, Kai

I remember reading the documents you referred me to but, sure didn't remember their content like you apparrently do.
