I've read in a couple of posts here, messages from Alaska saying "this will
be fixed tomorrow". Where are these new versions for download? Do I need to
send another request to the automatic download system?

Simon (et all),

as Pascal has pointed out already, we've just uploaded a new
snapshot of the VX project. You'll find a list of changes in
the announcements newsgroup. This may help you decide if
it's worth to download and reinstall. Apart from that, the
procedure is the same as before: connect using FTP, identify
yourself and download what's there. The access info you've
been using last time is still valid.
