James Loughner Still no sound

I still don't hear a sound when the compile fails. Note I'm running
Win98 and I have never got the internal speaker to work from Xbase++.
The sound needs to be directed to the sound card!!!

Or did I miss where to turn on this feature???

No need to turn on anything here.
A MessageBeep() (automatic redirection to the soundcard if proper installed)
is executed whenever an execute of pbuild fails.
It worked fine with my place. I think I will have to find out what can go
wrong here ?????????

Hi Andreas

Ok, the first problem was that I had not goten VX to install correctly.
After removing and reinstalling I am now running 235 and not 234

There is a sound, but its a tiny little click hardly noticable comming
from the computer speaker. Again I'm running a highly patched Win98 (SE
almost) an AMD processor and a SoundBlaster sound card. I'd much perfer
a wav file to the sound card. This would let me do "DANGER DANGER WILL
ROBERTSON". This could even be a fixed name wav in a fixed location. It
does not neccessarly require a configuration interface ( though that
would be nice). I would hope anyone using VX would be able to
copy/delete a wav file.

Hi James,

Have you set your computer sounds? It "sounds" to me like you have the
default warning sound to a "tiny little click".

Nope, he's just using W98 which does not have support for the internal
speaker; just try to use Tone() under W98 and you'll see...

W2K & XP do have support for the speaker (don't know about ME, just hate
that thing ...)

Very Best Regards

Joo
Exactly the same happen with Windows ME. I hear only a little click from the PC speaker. I'll prefer also an option so it will be
possible to choose a wav file that it will be playable from the Sound card when pbuild fails.
