I still didn't book my hotel for the devcon.
Do you know if there is a specific place where some/many/most of the
guys will stay?  It would be nice to car pool to/from the castle!

In the castle there are 94 beds availeble. That is the place where the most
attendees, speakers and organisation wil stay.
I do not know where others stay, we keep record of those that stay at the
castle.

I am staying in Venlo, with my son.  We are doing several days 
vacationing in the Netherlands.  We are renting a car.  In Venlo, we are 
staying at the Campanile Hotel Venlo.

I will be travelling by car from Milton Keynes in England to the castle.  If
any (non-smokers - sorry) wish to car share and split the cost of the ferry
& petrol then please contact me.  I will be travelling out on the Thursday
and return on the Sunday.

It was recommended to me. It's 87.00 Euros plus a minor charge per night. I've been staying at
Campanile hotels before. They are OK but don't expect too much comfort. Beds are small and hard,
blankets consist of a white, clean sheet and what I'd call a "horse blanket" . The pillows are anything
but comfortable. There are TVs in the rooms (which does not mean that they work) and the bathrooms
are clean. (Some have only tubs, no shower.)  At one of the Campaniles I stayed one night the main
fuse blew every time the dishwasher was started. After some time the management decided that they
urgently needed the dishwasher and I had to use my notebook as a light...

Maybe you are lucky. If you like a nice, comfortable, clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed,
you should rethink your decision. At the moment I still have two open seats in the car.
