Hello All,

It's 11:00 in the morning now, and have just driven Phil to Schiphol, and
say goodby to Steffen.
The XUG meeting nehterlands was a big success. After the official agenda,
the "Sessions" where moved to the bar, and to the breakfast table this
moring. It was a pleasure to meet Phil Ide and Steffen Pirsig in person, and
exchange ideas and experience. I was verry nice to meet the persons we
usualy only contact via e-mail and news-groups.
Phil gave us insight in the theory and woring of regular expressions, fuzzy
searches and the HAL (Html Application library).
Steffen showed us how Xbase++ 1.9 IDE works. I must say, this wil increase
productivity dramaticly. The intellisense when writing your prg's is a big
help. We can even customize the IDE and make our own (xbase++) tools a
integral part of the IDE. So developping, running and debugging the
application is done by a keystroke........ The IDE if fully customizable
The debugger is realy something special, this is complete different from
what we seen in previous versions. Setting breakpoints while you are
programming, compile and debug. Inspecting iVar's and objects with a single
mouse click or mouse-over events, objectbrowsere etc etc.

You have to wait intil the official release, but it is realy worth waiting
for.

Regards,
Jack Duijf

It was a very interesting meeting.
The demo of the new xbase++-ide by Steffen Pisrig let us see an excellent
new development-tool.
I'm looking forward to use this version

my thanks to organisators of this meeting, very interesting and worthy

Thanks Jack for providing transport (and waiting patiently at the airport
while we wandered around missing each other for hours ).

The hospitality was excellent, and meeting so many really great people was
pure pleasure. I really hope I didn't bore everybody. Next time (if there
is one) I'll be better prepared and try not to get so technical (and
hopefully my development laptop won't be being repaired again).

My thanks to everyone, especially Jack, Frans and Jan, but also to everyone
who made me feel welcome.

BTW, having seen the pictures of Steffen and myself at dinner, I have to
concede that Steffen makes me look like a dwarf!

Regards,

Phil Ide

Hello Frans,

Later that evening, i had a talk with Steffen. He mentioned a European
DevCon in 2004.
Probably in the center part of Europe. (Near Frankfurt.......)
